My Story

Tracy Spears is a best-selling author, international keynote speaker, and the force behind Trailer Park University, a transformative framework for leadership rooted in real-life grit, resilience, and radical authenticity.

She didn’t go to Harvard. She didn’t go to Yale. She graduated with lifelong lessons she learned while growing up in a trailer park in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Tracy was recruited out of the neighborhood to play softball at Union High School, where her talent caught the eye of the University of Oklahoma Hall of Fame Coach, Marita Hynes. She offered Tracy a full athletic scholarship that would change everything. After a serious injury her freshman year, Tracy went on to become an accomplished athlete who played internationally with the U.S. National Softball Team in Japan. But it wasn’t the trophies that shaped her, it was the early lessons of inclusion, delegation, and perspective she picked up in the trailer park playground of her childhood.

After 29 years as a successful executive in corporate America, Tracy was unexpectedly fired, a defining moment that cracked her open and led her to a deeper truth: she’d spent decades teaching authenticity while hiding her own. As an openly gay woman in a conservative industry, she’d become skilled at navigating success while staying silent. That silence ended the day she decided to tell the truth out loud and she’s been telling it ever since.

Tracy is known for her laugh-out-loud humor, magnetic presence, and jaw-dropping storytelling. Her live events are equal parts inspirational and practical, weaving together hard-won leadership lessons with raw, unforgettable stories. Whether she’s keynoting for global corporations, coaching C-suite leaders, or hosting her online academy, Trailer Park University, she’s always asking the deeper question: What would happen if you decided to curate a life that has you living in the possibilities of your life, and not the probabilities?

At Trailer Park University, Tracy helps people do just that with on-demand training videos, weekly live Q&A sessions, and a vibrant community known as Trailer Park Pack. She’s also the co-author of Leadership is a Verb, What Exceptional Leaders Know and The Exceptional Leaders Playbook.

Now at 60, Tracy is living her truth out loud with her partner, Chef Shannon Smith, by her side, and a new podcast, Here For All Of It, inviting others to step into the bold, messy, meaningful work of becoming who they were always meant to be.

Tracy loves to remind audiences that whatever you’re not changing, you’re choosing, and you are one decision away from changing anything you want. Are you ready to start?
